Air breathing & rocket propulsion systems

Dr. Jong Guen Lee
Associate Professor in the University of Cincinnati's Department of Aerospace Engineering & Engineering Mechanics

Dr. Jong Guen Lee is an Ohio Research Scholar and Assoc. Professor in the University of Cincinnati's Department of Aerospace Engineering & Engineering Mechanics. Prof. Lee's research focuses on combustion and propulsion problems in air-breathing and rocket propulsion systems. He has more than 20 years of experience in both academia and industry on a number of joint government and industry projects to develop the next-generation, ultra-low emissions, high efficiency gas turbine combustors for both land-based power generation and aircraft propulsion applications. Prof. Lee's research interests also include the development of various laser-based optical diagnostic techniques and sensors with applications to combustion/propulsion systems, the combustion control, the turbulent flame propagations, the multi-phase combustion processes, the supersonic combustion, the plasma-aided combustion, the solid propellants and the combustion of alternative fuels. He has been collaborating with many major gas turbine/aircraft industries such as GE Aviation, GE Energy, Pratt and Whitney, Siemens-Westinghouse and Solar Turbines, NASA, DOE-NETL, Army Research Labs and Air Force Research Labs.
