Ms. Murphy focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patents and trademarks before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Her practice includes consulting with clients on international patent portfolio management, and drafting and arguing patent appeals before the U.S. Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences.

Prior to opening her own firm in 2009, Cindy was the first woman partner at Renner, Otto, Boiselle, Sklar, LLP (est.1880). While a partner at Renner Otto she was involved in the development, procurement, maintenance and enforcement of intellectual property worldwide in the fields of aerospace systems, aircraft, rubber products, mechanical fasteners, medical devices, radar systems, electrical connectors, heat transfer devices, optical readers, hydraulic actuators, semiconductor devices, computer, displays, consumer products, diapers, games, and educational aids.

Before joining Renner Otto, Cindy served as in-house patent and trademark counsel for the Ranpak Corporation. She began her career as a performance turbine engineer with the Cleveland Electric & Illuminating Company (CEI). Cindy Murphy's engineering experience, competency at illustration, and writing skills make her an invaluable team member.
